Banded roller shades, also known as zebra shades, offer alternating bands of solid and see-through fabric to create a striped shade that offers view-through and UV protection. You can close the sheer bands shut for privacy and enjoy your banded roller shades all day long.

Solar shades operate like the roller variety but are specially designed to reduce glare, incoming heat, and UV rays. Choose your preferred level of openness to create the perfect amount of heat control and view-through. The higher the openness, the less protection and more view-through are provided. All styles look fantastic as a solo window treatment or paired with drapery for enhanced depth and texture.

WOVEN WOOD SHADES

WOOD & METAL BLINDS

Horizontal window blinds are quite possibly the most popular of all window treatments. They are versatile, easy to operate and offer unparalleled variable light control. Blinds are available in various colors and materials, so fitting into existing decor couldn’t be any easier. Fully raise or lower the blinds for a full view or complete privacy or tilt the slats to enjoy a bit of both.

Parkland® Wood Blinds from Hunter Douglas are made using lightweight, ultra-durable basswood or poplar. The two varieties of wood are rapidly renewable, making them an eco-friendly choice. Natural wood provides exceptional insulation, and its opaque nature guarantees unwanted gazes won’t pass through the slats.

Unfortunately, wood blinds always aren’t the most practical choice for every location. Rooms like bathrooms, kitchens, and basements have levels of moisture and humidity that will damage your hardwood window blinds. In these areas, faux wood blinds are the way to go. You have more colors to choose from, but you’re always welcome to go with a realistic stain-like finish. Faux wood blinds will never crack, bend, bow, or fade from UV exposure or moisture. Aluminum blinds are also great for high-traffic areas or homes with busy kids and pets. Metal blinds resist dust more so than other materials and come in ultra-slim ½” slats that are awesome in modern decor or on smaller windows. Available finishes include metallic, matte, and marble so there’s no room these blinds can’t fit right in from bedrooms to living rooms or man caves.

VERTICAL BLINDS

You may think vertical blinds are outdated and way off-trend, but Hunter Douglas has paved the way for a fresh take on these window blinds. Horizontal blinds would be far too cumbersome to operate on large or wide-set windows and sliding glass doors—vertical blinds open to the side or split in the middle for extreme ease of use. The slats of vertical blinds rotate 180 degrees, so you are always in control of the natural light and your privacy. The lines of vertical window blinds make ceilings appear taller and so are an excellent choice for rooms with low ceilings. Your blinds can be made of easy-care vinyl or more sophisticated metal- and fabric-style vertical blind slats or panels.

SHUTTERS

Shutters give you optimal light control and excellent ventilation with louvers that can be up to 4.5” wide. Wider slats also allow less unwanted light to sneak through gaps because there are fewer gaps.
